The Guardian awarded the show four stars, writing that although the show has been 'over-hyped' 'it offers 'a remarkable portrait of a modern woman who shamelessly bares her soul and in so doing reveals her essential solitude.'
The Independent also gave the performance four stars, saying, 'Waller-Bridge is a compelling performer, and a little over an hour in her company is a treat.'
Again, The Times said the show deserved four stars, writing that 'Waller-Bridge is brilliant at playing the original Fleabag, a sex-obsessed and hard-drinking twentysomething who creates a trail of mayhem wherever she goes.'
