It's hardly a surprise that last night's Emmys looked a bit different this year. Instead of a bustling ceremony, most of the winners dialled in from home to make their speeches - with Jimmy Kimmel presenting from the Staples Centre in LA with only a few other guest presenters joining him in the studio.

The big winner of the virtual night was Schitt's Creek which won nine Emmys - and every award it was nominated for - for its final season which was broadcast earlier this year. Its stars Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy were named best comedy actress and actor, with Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy also winning the best supporting actor and actress trophies.

Succession and Watchmen also cleaned up, with Succession winning best drama series and best lead actor in a drama for Jeremy Strong. Meanwhile, Watchmen won best limited series, with awards for Regina King and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

It was also a brilliant night for Zendaya who became the youngest ever winner of best drama actress for her performance in Euphoria. Writing on her Instagram story, she said: 'Still on cloud nine... so grateful, still speechless, to all my friends and family who have texted/tweeted/called etc. I will promise I will get back to you tomorrow when I've wrapped my head around this amazing night, until then... gonna go to sleep and make sure this isn't a dream.'

'As you’ve probably guessed, we’re not going to be asking you to come to the Microsoft Theatre in downtown LA on September 20th,' a letter sent to nominees before the show read. 'This year, it’s still going to be TV industry’s biggest night out… but we’ll come to you! We are assembling a top notch team of technicians, producers and writers to work closely with Jimmy Kimmel and with you and your team, to make sure that we can film with you (and loved ones or whomever else you choose to be with) at your home, or another location of your choice. We’re going to make you look fabulous – we’re exploring the cutting edge of technology to allow to use good cameras and lighting and look forward to working with you to produce your unique "on screen” moments.'
