Last week Australian news sources were telling us that Emma Watson was dating Prince Harry (the wrong Harry, right?). We were all a little apprehensive - how would the Australians know more about two of Britain’s best exports than us? Turns out the doubts were entirely well-founded, as Emma Watson, who’s previously been linked to Harry Styles because she stood next to them and they looked like they’d make a great couple, has tweeted to tell us not to believe everything we read.
Perhaps making a nod to the fact she’ll be playing a Disney princess soon (Belle, in Beauty and the Beast), she also reminded us of A Little Princess, made by Alfonso Cuarón, the very same guy who went on to direct Emma in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
The quote basically turned what was some media’s attempt to redefine Emma Watson by speculating about who she might or might not marry into the actress, who recently launched the #HeForShe programme, giving the sisterhood a massive big-up.
Because the video (which can’t be embedded, so you’ll have to click through) has the protagonist telling her mean matron/slavedriver: ‘All girls are princesses. Even if they live in tiny old attics, even if they dress in rags, even if they aren’t pretty or smart or young , they’re still princesses, all of us!’
