They reportedly broke up earlier this year,to heartbroken cries of ‘WTF’ and ‘I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT LOVE IS ANYMORE WHY WHY’, but now Emma Stone has been seen carrying a brown bag with her supposed ex’s name on it. In pen. Yeah, it says ‘Andrew Garfield’ in capital letters and everything.
The only reason you’re going to have a bag with your ex’s name on it is if: a) they’re not longer an ex and you’re running errands for them (Emma was leaving her stylist’s office and definitely looked errand-y) or b) you’re giving them their stuff back and want to make sure you don’t accidentally give them the wrong bag.
We really hope it’s the first one, because the couple reportedly on a break at the mo are our favourite, despite being hounded by rumours as to how and why the break occurred.
One of the worst is that Andrew actually cheated on Emma while filming in Taiwan – a source told OK: ‘He says that he met a girl in a bar, and that he would never dream of doing anything like that ever again. [Emma] never thought that he’d be capable of this in a million years, and she’s beside herself. She feels betrayed and says that she can’t be with someone she doesn’t trust. She knows that they can’t be together every second of every day and doesn’t want to be constantly worried that he’ll cheat again.’
Would you carry a brown bag bearing the name of a guy who cheated on you in Taiwan? Probably not. Which is why we’re using this as irrefutable evidence that they never broke up (they never officially confirmed it, anyway) and that all these rumours are nothing more than that: rumours.
Long live Garfield and Stone. In other news, they should probably get their own cartoon series – you can’t have names like Garfield and Stone and not put them to good use.
