Congratulations are in order for Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah, who welcomed their first daughter last week.
The couple's spokesperson confirmed the news that Iris Mary Redmayne was born on Wednesday June 15th.
At the Oscars earlier this year, Eddie revealed that he and Hannah would be keeping the baby's sex 'a surprise.'
'I was like, "Maybe we should find out," and my wife’s like, "We’re not finding out." She wears the trousers. It's one of the great surprises that still exists in the world.’
Speaking about the logistics of parenthood, Eddie added 'The list of things you're meant to get before going to the hospital [...] it's a long list of stuff right there!'
'We have this sort of dream of like wooden toys, and all that, and everyone's like, "Yeah you always start off like that, but you end up with like, iPhones!"'

2016 is already shaping up to be a pretty big year for Eddie Redmayne. With nominations aplenty for The Danish Girl and another surely on the way come the Oscars, Eddie's got even more happy news: his wife Hannah is expecting a baby.
Veteran TV host Ryan Seacrest wasted no time grilling the pair on the red carpet of the 73rd Annual Golden Globes, asking if Hannh was pregnant, to which Eddie responded with a resounding yes.
Seacrest was then kind enough gift them some babygrows, reading 'You Should See My Crib' and 'Milking My 15 Minutes', which we're sure they'll use regularly.
Hannah and Eddie were married last year, and the baby is thought to be due in late spring. We're sending lots of well wishes to the happy couple - in fact, love really was in the air last night as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Statham announced their engagement last night, too.
