Well, this is awkward - Ed Sheeran{ =nofollow}’s new restaurant doesn’t stock Heinz ketchup, that’s even though he’s the face of the brand. The pop superstar just opened a new pub, Bertie Blossoms, in Notting Hill - but The Sun reports that when asked for a bottle of the sauce, waiters couldn’t bring any.

It was previously reported that Ed - who has a bottle of ketchup tattooed on his arm - was paid £300,000 to be part of Heinz’s campaign. He had previously begged the brand to work with him on social media. Posting some snaps while posing with the red sauce, he wrote on Instagram, ‘Yo Heinz I have an idea for a tv ad if you wanna do one, if not I won't be offended, I could never be mad at you. Slide in my DMs or have your people call my people. Lots of love, your biggest fan x.’ (Last year, it was also revealed that an assistant made sure ketchup was on their team at all times - in case disaster struck, and Ed found himself in a restaurant too posh to serve it.)

Ed’s restaurant opened last month, and the pub is named after his wife, Cherry Seaborn. Announcing the launch on Instagram, the 28-year-old posted snaps of cocktails and food from the Bertie Blossoms menu, alongside snaps of him pulling pints, writing, ‘Me and @stuartcamp73 have opened up our own bar in London. It’s called @bertie_blossoms, and it’s on Portobello road, opposite Pizza East. Good beer and good food. Pop in when you have time, hope you like it.’
