Ed Sheeran Refuses To Kiss Pre-Teen Because It’s Not 1974

Ed Sheeran does some pretty tingly love songs (yes, we’ve said it) and sometimes people get so amorous they propose to each other at his shows. But one proposal he refused was when a mum tried to get him to be her daughter’s first kiss.

The pop star told Entertainment Weekly: ‘The fans are always really nice! Really polite and gracious. The parents are the ones that do the things that I think are odd.’

Like, um, trying to get the ginger warbler to kiss an underage girl! ‘There was a woman in San Francisco, she wanted me to be her daughter’s first kiss – and her daughter was nine.’

She said: ‘Well, Carrie Underwood did it for this 11-year-old boy last week!’

‘If Carrie Underwood kisses an 11-year-old boy, he goes into school the next day and they go, “Oh, you absolute lad!” [FYI we sort of hope they don’t because that’s pretty creepy as well] If a nine-year-old girl goes into school and goes, “I got kissed by a 24-year-old yesterday,” police are being called, you know?’

It’s a pretty sensible approach, much like his approach to tattoos. Even though his arms are covered in a mosaic of bright colours, Ed insists: ‘I’ve always said I’ll never do neck or hands – anything that can be seen in a suit, so I can get married.’

Aw. We’re sure there’s plenty of people who’d marry you even with a giant Garfield tattoo on your face, Ed. Even nine-year-olds!
