It's a good day for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry and their mental health campaign, Heads Together. Because a national study published today, reveals that when the campaign reached its height in May, the number of people who were talking about mental health had dramatically increased.
Speaking at the Data Observatory at Imperial College London on Friday, Prince William described the news as like 'exam results day' and said what they managed to achieve was 'amazing' and 'a lot to process'.

In February, before the campaign gathered momentum, a YouGov survey of 14,000 people revealed 45% of men and 52% of women were talking about mental health. By April, when the campaign was in full swing, the gap between men and women talking about the issue had all but closed, with 60% of men and 61% of women discussing it.
Indeed, a whopping 1.2million more men were talking about their mental health around that time than they had done previously, which is a fantastic result, namely for Prince Harry, who gave an unprecedented interview to The Telegraph in April, where he spoke frankly about struggling to cope with the death of his mother, in the hope it would 'normalise the conversation' about issues surrounding mental health.
It appears he did just that.
Off the back of the campaign's excellent results, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry have also announced they are investing £2million into digital solutions to help improve mental health.
It is the largest single grant ever given by the Royal Foundation and it's hoped the new technology will act as a 'metaphorical barrier' – Prince William said – to catch people in need who might have slipped through the net, by helping to provide them with the assistance they require.
And if the most recent news is anything to go by, we have no doubt the Royals' digital initiative will be hugely beneficial to those experiencing mental health troubles. We look forward to seeing their Heads Together campaign continue to go from strength to strength in months and years to come.
