You know we're living through strange times where you think 'isn't it nice to see someone's bottom half?'. But with everyone working from home, we've got used to seeing our friends and colleagues from the waist up. The Duchess of Cambridge is no exception, as she's been dialling in to lead school assemblies, launch a photography competition and even lead a bingo session for the elderly. She has done so in a wide range of colourful outfits, but it's been months since we've seen her off-screen, and we're oddly thrilled to see her out and about.

It has been revealed that Kate stepped out yesterday, to a family-run Fakenham Garden Centre near her Anmer Hall home in Norfolk. She told staff that she and William - who himself paid a visit to Smiths the Bakers in King's Lynn - have been 'food shopping' in the past few weeks but have otherwise stayed in lockdown with their three children, who have been enjoying learning about gardening, particularly tomato plants. Social distancing measures were taken, with Kate speaking to attendees from a two metre distance.

Earlier this week, Kate addressed a class of children as part of the Oak National Academy's weekly assemblies, where she addressed the difficulties we have all faced. 'Talking to someone, whether it's a friend, family member, or teacher, is something you can do to make yourself feel that little bit better,' she said. 'And you can also play your part in helping others to feel better too, whether offering a friendly ear, or helping someone in need. Small acts of kindness can go such a long way. But as we help others, we mustn't forget to nurture ourselves, by taking the time to focus on the things that make us feel happy too.'

News of this appearance follows an outing by Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. They hosted France's President Macron yesterday. The couple have been in Birkhall, Scotland for three months, following Prince Charles' own COVID-19 diagnosis in March.
