Drake’s always one-upping himself, going from actor to singer to superhero to über romantic future husband. Now he’s managed to do it again, halting a show mid-song to stop a fan preying on women.
In a video caught by a fan, Drake said: ‘Yo, stop that shit. If you don’t stop touching girls I’m going to come out there and fuck you up. I’m not playing with you, if you don’t stop putting your hands on girls, I’m gonna come out there and fuck your ass up.’
In a world of snowballing accusations post-Weinstein, it’s encouraging to see powerful figures in the industry take public stands against it. Drake may have been criticised in the past for his ‘but I’m a nice guy’ attitude towards women, but it’s difficult to fault a guy for standing up for a woman’s fundamental rights.
