In today’s installment of bad taste tweets, rapper Drake has freaked out about the fact that he’s been bumped from the cover of this month’s Rolling Stone magazine in favour of recently deceased actor Philip Seymour Hoffman.
The Canadian star vented his frustration – as you do these days – on Twitter, also accusing the magazine of making up the fact he called Kanye West’s recent work ‘questionable’ in the interview. ‘I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone. They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue,’ he posted overnight.
But he soon seemed to realize it didn’t exactly look mature to bitch about a tribute to an Oscar-winning actor who’d died of a heroine overdose, deleting the tweet and rushing to make amends. ‘RIP to Philip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil,’ he tweeted in a rush as the furore gathered on the social network. ‘I'm done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That's the only way my message gets across accurately.’
Now we’ve all been there – posting a revenge tweet in haste/when drunk before deleting it and being consumed by twaranoia. But when you’re followed by millions, you’d think that the fact screenshots last forever might help keep your ego in check…
