An extensive new report by Vanity Fair appears to shine new light upon Donald Trump’s relationship with the First Lady, Melania, with one source telling the magazine that the President allegedly made his wife agree to a ‘contract’ before becoming pregnant.
The source, who claims to have visited Trump’s home while Melania was pregnant with her son Barron, now 11, remembers Trump ‘remarking that he agreed to the baby on the condition that Melania would get her body back.’
As Evgenia Perez's article, titled ‘Inside The Trump Marriage: Melania’s Burden,’ puts it:
‘“[Melania] promised him that everything would go back to the way it was,” says this guest; it struck this person as a “contract.” And he was simply rude to her. “There was no ‘How do you feel?’ No opening of doors, making sure she didn’t fall. Just ‘You wanted to have a baby.’”

The First Lady's spokesperson Stephanie Grisham countered this, stating that Trump was 'very warm and supportive throughout [Melania's] pregnancy.'
Describing the former model as a 'very private woman' whose marriage has forced her to cope with 'intense public scrutiny,' the piece suggests that despite reports that Melania is set to make the White House her main residence once Barron has finished the school year, the first couple are yet to announce (and according to a 'well-placed member of the Washington education community, even apply for) a new D.C. school for their son.
