OK, so it might not be the TV crossover you were expecting but Netflix's new coming-of-age comedy Never Have I Ever was filmed on the same set as Desperate Housewives. So, if you thought you recognised those houses, then you're totally right.
Lang Fisher and Mindy Kaling's latest creation - which centers around Devi Vishwakumar, a 15-year-old first-generation Indian American who really wants to be cool - is based in the fictional neighbourhood of Sherman Oaks, California. And while Desperate Housewives was supposedly filmed on Wisteria Lane, a street in the fictional town of Fairview in the fictional Eagle State, both series were actually filmed at the Universal Studios backlot in LA.
And we're not the only ones who have noticed, either - with many viewers being distracted that Devi lives in Susan's house.
'Still can't get over Never Have I Ever using the same set at _Desperate Housewives,'_one user wrote. 'Whole time I was watching I was just thinking, "That's Susan's house...Bree's house...Mike Delfino..."' Another added, 'Never Have I Ever is pretty great so far... also I’m pretty sure they’re using same street as Desperate Housewives which just puts me at so much peace.'
Never Have I Ever only dropped on Netflix at the end of last month, but fans have already binge watched the entire show in quarantine. There's been no word on a second series yet, but Fisher told Entertainment Tonight she is 'hopeful' and 'optimistic' for another chapter. 'I’d love to keep telling the story and come back and see where these characters are,' the writer and producer said. 'It was a really fun show to work on and to write. I’m optimistic, but nothing’s a guarantee.'
