Fashion designer L’Wren Scott has been found dead in her apartment. Aged just 49, she was found hanged in an apparent suicide bid at 10am New York time on 17 March 2014).

Police are investigating the death, but according to the New York Daily News, they do not suspect foul play. A former Calvin Klein model, L’Wren became a stylist, designing outfits for films such as Eyes Wide Shut, Ocean’s Thirteen and many more.

Her Little Black Dress collection, launched in 2006, and her designs have since been worn by Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Amy Adams, Michelle Obama, and Penelope Cruz, to name a few.

She most recently had worked with Lancôme and Banana Republic, and had been going out with Mick Jagger since around 2001. She cancelled her latest fashion week show, instead revealing her new collection through social media.

Strangely, a tweet was published from her account at 10.30am New York time, however this may have been a pre-scheduled message.
