Demi Moore has said she was raped at the age of 15 in her home, by a man who claimed to have paid her mother £400. The actress has made the allegation in her memoir Inside Out, and discussed the claims further in an interview on Good Morning America.

In the book, she writes, ‘It was rape. And a devastating betrayal, revealed by the man’s cruel question: how does it feel to be whored by your mother for $500?’

And speaking to Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America yesterday, Moore said that now she didn’t think that the rape had been ‘a straightforward transaction’. She said, ‘In my deep heart, no, I don’t think it was… But [my mother] did give him the access and put me in harm’s way.’

In the book, Moore writes that her mother, Virginia, was an alcoholic who would take Demi to bars while she was a teenager to attract male attention.

The actress also claimed that she saved her mum from a suicide attempt when she was 12-years-old, saying, ‘I remember using my fingers, the small fingers of a child, to dig the pills my mother had tried to swallow, out of her mouth.'

The Ghost star held a party to celebrate the launch of the book last night, with friends including Gwyneth Paltrow{ =nofollow}, Kate Hudson, and Liv Tyler attending.
