Demi Lovato Said We’d Be Self-Centred To Not Believe In Aliens

She also believes in mermaids, too…

As we reported earlier today, Lana Del Rey recently said she's more interested in space than feminism, and she's definitely not alone in her quest for the extraterrestrial, because Demi Lovato has said she believes in aliens. Her logic makes sense, as she told Seth Meyers on his Late Night With… chat show: 'How self-centred would we be, as humans, to believe that we are the only living things in the universe?'

Um, pretty self-centred to not acknowledge the existence of animals and birds and insects and grass and trees and stuff, but we totally get what she means…if there are humans evolved enough to have created computers where we can watch, from half way across the planet, videos of Demi Lovato talking about aliens, there must be some similarly hyper functional aliens somewhere in the great big massive universe...

What wasn't so logical, however, was Demi's explanation for the existence of mermaids. She said that these conspiracy theories grew after watching an 'extremely convincing documentary' about the sea creatures, and she cited Christopher Columbus's discovery of three mermaids on his journey to find America as yet more reasons why they must exist.

She kept it fairly real, though, admitting that she doesn't believe in Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster, but hasn't yet done her research on the moon landings to work out if they were simply a hoax.

But maybe she'll now have a dig around and get sucked into that compelling YouTube spiral of conspiracy; more on this as it happens (or doesn't).
