Iconic actress Debbie Reynolds has died, her son Todd Fisher has confirmed.
Just a day after the death of her daughter Carrie Fisher, who died following a heart attack, the 84-year-old actress suffered a severe stroke in LA.
It’s been reported that Reynolds was planning Fisher’s funeral, before being taken from Mr Fisher’s house to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
“The last thing she said this morning was that she was very, very sad about losing Carrie and that she would like to be with her again,” Mr Fisher said.
“The only thing we’re taking solace in is that what she wanted to do was take care of her daughter, which is what she did best.”
On Tuesday, Reynolds had taken to Facebook to express her gratitude for the support she’d received following her daughter’s death.
She said: “Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter. I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop. Love Carries Mother.”
Tributes to the actress have been flooding social media, lead by Debra Messing, who played Reynolds’ daughter Grace in Will And Grace, and Eric McCormack, who played Will.
People are also remembering her older roles, which include Singin’ In The Rain, alongside Gene Kelly, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award, and Tammy And The Batchelor.
