Former prime minister David Cameron has briefly experienced what it's like to be a woman - particularly one in the public eye - after the Daily Mail described pictures of him on holiday in an unflattering light.
The images in question show the Conservative politician getting ready to bodyboard on a beach in Cornwell during his annual family getaway, wearing the requisite (and unforgiving) skin-tight bodysuit. In them, he is seen zipping up his wife Samantha Cameron's suit, before the pair take to the waves.

Unfortunately for Dave, who recently caused a furore for unwittingly posing next to a Jeremy Corbyn supporter with a glass of wine and a cigarette at Wilderness Festival, the snaps don't capture him in the best light, with a middle-aged beer belly in evidence.
The Daily Mail seized on this detail, saying: 'Sadly for [husband] David, the less lean look that he has displayed since leaving Downing Street was highlighted in all its paunchy glory.' The comparison was an unflattering one to his wife Samantha, who in contrast looks gym-honed and fit (or 'trim, toned and confident' as the Mail puts it).
Cameron, of course, has had a bit of time on his hands since resigning from his position of leader of the country last June, following the disastrous Brexit vote. During his time in office, he reportedly trained with celebrity trainer Matt Roberts, but since leaving it seems he's been less committed to his fitness regime.
While we don't condone body-shaming of any kind - and in fact, we're fans of the cuddly, 'dad-bod' look - it is strangely refreshing to see a man held up to the same ideals that women so often are. (Although, it must be said, the Daily Mail is frequently an equal opportunities body-shamer - and in fact reported on Dave's belly last summer, too).
