I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner Danny Jones has made a statement after he was caught kissing reality star Maura Higgins during an after party for the Brit Awards despite having a wife of ten years, Georgia Horsley.
'Hello everyone,' he wrote via his Instagram story. 'Sorry it's taken me a while to post this but I've taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we'll continue to deal with this privately.
'I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.'
McFly’s Danny Jones and Love Island’s Maura Higgins made headlines earlier this month after they were videoed sharing a kiss at Universal’s Brit Awards afterparty at 180 The Strand. The Sun shared footage of the former I’m a Celeb campmates talking at the after party, before leaning in for several kisses, while onlookers reported that they spent most of the party together. Maura has not yet commented publicly.
Love Island’s Maura Higgins reportedly recently went through a break-up with The Only Way Is Essex’s Pete Wicks, but Danny is still married to former Miss England Georgia, who is the mother of his seven-year-old son, Cooper. Fans of I’m A Celeb will remember that Georgia and Cooper flew to Australia to visit him during his stint in the jungle, their heartfelt family reunion proving popular with viewers who complimented how beautiful Danny’s family unit was.
Danny attended the Brit awards with fellow McFly bandmate Tom Fletcher, but according to reports he went to the afterparty solo, where he is said to have gotten very close with Maura and shared a ‘drunken kiss’. As well as the kiss, Maura was spotted with her head on Danny’s shoulder, with Danny’s arm around her.
On the Monday following the kiss, Georgia released the latest episode of her and Kelsey Parker’s podcast, Mum's The Word, although she made no mention of Danny and Maura’s kiss. Instead, the pair chatted about motherhood and the importance of spending time with their children.
