Despite her burgeoning political career, Cynthia Nixon is not going to be distancing herself from her most famous role any time soon, if her new campaign merchandise is anything to go by.
The Sex and the City star, who played red-head lawyer Miranda Hobbes on the hit show and is running for office in New York, announced a new line of clothing and accessories for her supporters to wear yesterday, on the 20th anniversary of the hit show’s first episode.
‘Are you a Miranda voting for Cynthia? In honor of #SATC20, here's a line of Miranda merchandise designed by the team behind the "Every Outfit on Sex and the City" Instagram account... because, well, we should all be Mirandas who vote for Cynthia,’ she wrote on Twitter.
Created in collaboration with the women behind the popular Instagram account @everyoutfitonsatc, pieces include T-shirts, tote bags and caps, with slogans like ‘I’m a Miranda and I’m voting for Cynthia’.
She’s already got the support of former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, who recently shared a picture of her on Instagram, captioned: ‘A mother, an activist, an advocate, a fighter, a NY’er, a dear friend, running for governoer of our great state. My sister on and off screen, you have my love, support and vote.’
