Is Cruz Beckham set to be the next Justin Bieber? After signing with Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, David and Victoria’s 11-year-old son has just released his debut single, ‘If Every Day Was Christmas.’
Proceeds from the song, which was revealed earlier this month on the Capital FM Breakfast Show, will be donated to Global’s Make Some Noise charity, helping disadvantaged children around the UK.
Cruz’s proud parents have been showing off their son’s musical talents on Instagram since earlier this year, when David posted a clip of him performing the ‘Cups’ song sung by Anna Kendrick in Pitch Perfect. The 11-year-old joined Instagram himself earlier this week and has already managed to accrue an impressive 135,000 followers, posting clips from a recording studio in LA, teasers for new music and a backstage photo with a newly bearded Calvin Harris.
Pulling the ultimate Dad move, David posted a clip of Cruz listening to his new song on the radio for the first time, captioned ‘Not your average morning before school… Proud of my little man with his new Christmas single and also helping children around the UK with the proceeds from this.’
The cover art for Cruz’s first single sees the youngest Beckham posing behind a skateboard, and is rumoured to have been shot by older brother Brooklyn (whose first book of photography is due out next year). Now, the video for the new track has arrived online, which sees Cruz skateboarding around London (and, for reasons unknown, being covered in festive glitter) with cameo appearances from all the Beckham siblings.
What with Cruz’s musical ambitions, Romeo’s modelling, Brooklyn’s photography and Harper’s status as a fashion designer in the making, it seems that Brand Beckham 2.0 is ready to take on the world.
The single is currently number 7 in the UK, but number 6 in Thailand. Could it be Christmas number 1? Watch this space...
