There have been many anecdotes in Prince Harry’s bombshell autobiography ‘Spare’that have since been questioned over their factual accuracy. For example, where he was when he learnt that his great-grandmother, the Queen Mother, had died in March 2002 – he claimed that he was in Eton whilst reports at the time stated that he was skiing in Switzerland with his father and brother – as well as him being gifted an Xbox four years before they existed.

And now, Friends' actress Courteney Cox has led royal fans to question Prince Harry’s claim that he took magic mushrooms whilst attending a party at her house in 2016.

In ‘Spare’, Harry writes, ‘We went from the home of [my friend] Thomas' girlfriend to the home of Courteney Cox. She was a friend of Thomas' girlfriend, and had more room. Also, she was traveling, on a job, and didn't mind if we crashed at her place.

‘No complaints from me. As a Friends fanatic, the idea of crashing at Monica's was highly appealing. And amusing. But then… Courteney turned up. I was very confused. Was her job cancelled? I didn't think it was my place to ask. More: Does this mean we have to leave?’

Then - after writing about meeting actor Will Arnett - the royal continued, ‘Then, maybe to get rid of us, he led my mate and me to the fridge, from which he extracted a soft drink. While the door was open, we spotted a huge box of black diamond mushroom chocolates. Somebody behind me said they were for everybody. Help yourself, boys. My mate and I grabbed several, gobbled them, washed them down with tequila.’

Speaking about the allegations made by Prince Harry, Courteney shed light on the night in questions saying, ‘He did stay here for a couple of days – probably two or three. He’s a really nice person. I haven’t read the book. I do want to hear it, because I’ve heard it’s really entertaining. But yes, it got back to me about it.’

She continued, ‘I'm not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn’t passing them out.’

Looks like Courteney wasn’t directly responsible for Harry’s trip then, but we notice she’s not exactly denying it either…
