To be honest, we still don't feel like we're over the ending of Normal People, but filming for the next Sally Rooney drama, Conversations With Friends, has just started in Northern Ireland, according to BBC Three.

In case you haven't read the book, the plot follows Frances and Bobbi, best friends and ex-girlfriends, as they become entangled with an older couple, Nick and Melissa. Even though Normal People appeared on TV first, Conversations With Friends was Sally Rooney's first novel.

It will feature Joe Alwyn - Taylor Swift's boyfriend - as Nick and Girls star Jemima Kirke will star as Melissa. And Sasha Lane, who starred in The Miseducation of Cameron Post, will play Bobbi. Conversations With Friends is also set to make a worldwide name of newcomer Alison Oliver, who will appear as Frances. (Posting on Instagram, Normal People's Paul Mescal said he couldn't wait to see it, adding: 'Big shout out to my pal Alison Oliver who is going to blow you all away.')

The show is being produced by the same company as Normal People, and will also be directed by Oscar-nominated director Lenny Abrahamson. Ed Guiney, the executive producer of Element Pictures, said: 'Alison, Sasha, Joe and Jemima are the dream cast to lead Conversations With Friends and all of us at Element are so excited about the incredible scripts from our amazing team of writers which we have been developing.'

Though if you were hoping for the drama to be on screens soon, sadly, you'd be wrong - as filming has only just started, it's probably not going to be ready until next year. However, if you can't wait until then, Sally Rooney's third novel Beautiful World, Where Are You - which will explore similar themes of friendship, love and sex - is set to be released on September 7.
