Are We Really Getting A Coleen Rooney Versus Rebekah Vardy Netflix Series?

There are rumours of a TV adaptation...

Coleen

We all remember where we were when Coleen Rooney posted an explosive claim online, accusing Rebekah Vardy of leaking private information to a tabloid newspaper. The allegations sent shockwaves across the country, leading to denials and an ongoing legal case, but as the pair continue to work to establish the facts and unearth the truth, one thing is certain: it would make one hell of a TV show. Now, we may be moving a step closer to this becoming a reality.

A report published in The Daily Star this week states that ‘Netflix is set to make an OJ trial-style mini-series about Rebekah Vardy’s Wagatha Christie legal battle with Coleen Rooney’, with the report stating that ‘TV channel chiefs have admitted they will be watching the saga play out in the High Court.’ We are..... excited.

Netflix has not commented on this report but they are, at the very least, aware of the whole story. When the news first broke last October, they tweeted ‘we're going to have to make a documentary about this, aren't we?’You’ll recall the long statement posted by Coleen. ‘For a few years now someone I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing The Sun newspaper of my private posts and stories,’ she wrote. ‘There has been so much information given to them about me, my friends and my family – all without my permission or knowledge. After a long time of trying to figure out who it could be, for various reasons, I had a suspicion. To try and prove this, I came up with an idea. I blocked everyone from viewing my Instagram stories except ONE account. (Those on my private account must have been wondering why I haven’t had stories on there for a while.) Over the past five months I have posted a series of false stories if they made their way into the Sun newspaper. And you know what, they did! The story about gender selection in Mexico, the story about returning to TV and then the latest story about the basement flooding in my new house. It’s been tough keeping it to myself and not making any comment at all, especially when the stories have been leaked, however I had to. Now I know for certain which account/individual it’s come from. I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them. It’s..... Rebekah Vardy’s account.’ Rebekah responded with a denial.

If the rumours of a TV show ever become fact, there’s really only one woman who fans hope will play Coleen: fellow Liverpudlian Jodie Comer. At the time the saga first hit our computer screens, fans came together to dream of the casting. ‘I can’t wait for the Jack Reacher/Coleen Rooney spin-off franchise, with Jodie Comer as Coleen and Scarlett Johansson as Reacher because she can play anything’, one fan wrote. ‘Can the next series of Feud be about Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy and have Coleen played by Jodie Comer?’ added another.
