UPDATE: Since the story broke yesterday the scandal (which has been dubbed Wagatha Christie) continues to be the story that gives and gives (and gives, and gives). Danielle Lloyd appeared on This Morning to tell audiences that she has had 'similar run-ins' with Rebekah Vardy.
Rebekah Vardy has now flown home from holiday and is apparently instructing a forensic specialist to prove that other people had access to her Instagram and that it wasn't her who was selling Coleen's stories.
We'll keep you updated if anything else (literally anything) happens.
Footballers' Wives has been off our screens for the better part of a decade, but today Coleen Rooney has proved that real life can be way, way better than fiction. She took to Instagram this morning to post a statement detailing how she had spent the last few months laying a trap to find out who was selling stories about her based on her private Instagram.
The post reads, 'For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram account has been consistently informing The Sun newspaper of my private posts and stories'.
She goes on to explain that she had a feeling about who it was, so she laid a trap. 'I blocked everyone from viewing my Instagram stories except ONE account....
'...Over the past five months I have posted a series of false stories to see if they made their way into the Sun newspaper. And you what, they did!'
It's an absolute masterclass in suspense writing and clearly Coleen should be turning her hand to fiction next.
Rebekah Vardy has now denied the allegation, writing: 'Can’t believe I’m even having to write this. I’m pregnant & on holiday & am at a loss to why she would do this. I’m now having to take legal advice as I can’t deal with this stress myself when I’m this pregnant.'
She goes on to write 'I liked you a lot Coleen and I am so hurt that you decided to do this, especially when I am heavily pregnant.'
Will Coleen reply? Will Rebekah take legal action? IS ANYONE GOING TO SET FIRE TO THEIR OWN BREASTS? We'll try to stop hyperventilating and keep you posted.
