Yesterday, Chrissy Teigen posted a photograph of her on Instagram showing off her latest pregnancy cravings, which happen to be the luridly coloured Cap’N Crunch and Fruity Pebbles cereals - it was clearly the dream midnight snack for her.
Teigen captioned the image with ‘Cap’n Pebbles cravings, nightly’. It was clearly supposed to be a joke that evidently was lost on her Instagram followers as the hate rolled in.
A sample quote from one of her followers was ‘I love you but don’t eat this crap while pregnant…it’s beyond bad for the baby and of course it’s not organic’.
Chrissy clearly didn’t take kindly to the public disapproval of her dyed snacking habits as she took to Twitter to call out her critics:
"If you wanna give me unsolicited baby advice on the damn cereal I eat/what I wear u better unlock your profile so I can see your perfection". She continued on to sass her followers with "Yes I am living off dyed food. Tuna too! Gonna try to dye my tuna actually. Then have an icy, dyed vodka soda and that’s just lunch".
Clearly the A-lister didn’t take kindly to the criticism, and we can see why - half the fun of being pregnant is the excuse to eat eat eat. This is part of a long list of stars speaking out against body shaming and criticism on social media, including Selena Gomez and Lena Dunham.
Chrissy and her husband, John Legend announced that they were expecting a child earlier on this month, telling everyone that they’re ‘really, really excited’. Well don’t let the haters get you down Chrissy. Just keep eating.
