This series of Celebs Go Dating is now in full swing – we’ve had tears, laughs and an awkward date for Chloe Brockett (which featured a very cringey TikTok dance routine.) The series has just begun, and it is already extremely eventful. However, one late arrival is creating quite a stir.

Jessika Power, best known for starring on Married at First Sight Australia, has joined the Celebs Go Dating line-up. However, it appears Jessica has broken a key contractual rule – she already has a boyfriend. According to The Sun,Jessika signed a contract with Channel 4 worth approximately £40,000, with one vital condition, that she must be single.

However, it is believed she has been leaving filming in London to travel back to Manchester to be with her boyfriend Connor Thompson. As early as December 2021, the pair were positing loved up pictures of Instagram but held back once filming started in order to downplay their romance.

A insider revealed to The Sun, ‘Jessika told bosses she was completely single when she signed the contract, insisting all rumours she was dating Connor were false and that she really wanted the agency’s help finding a British boyfriend.’

‘Instead, she told pals she only agreed to do the show as it was a huge opportunity that’d boost her name in the UK.

‘She moved to England for Connor and never had any interest in the guys the agency had lined up for her,’ they added.

At this moment in time, the process of legal action has not begun, but it understood Jessika has really angered the show’s bosses. They must now also decide whether to dock her pay as a consequence for deceiving them. The insider further commented, ‘Jessika breaching this clause has brought the whole premise of the show into question and bosses may have to make an example out of her and cut her fee.

‘If they don’t, it sets a precedent and contestants on future seasons may do the same. The agents invest their time in the celebrities' dating journey and expect them to take the process seriously.’

Considering the amount effort, time and money put into the show by Channel 4, their frustration was foreseeable. This season of Celebs Go Dating also features Miles Nazaire, Ryan-Mark Parsons, Ulrika Josson, Chloe Brockett, Abz Love, Nikita Jasmine and Marty McKenna.
