Thinking about dating the most lusted-after member of One Direction? Oh we'd be lying if we said we hadn't considered it. I mean Harry hasn't called yet, but that's not to say he's not frantically searching the yellow pages right now hoping to come across our number. It turns out however that dating the floppy-haired one might not actually be as ace as it's cracked up to be if Caroline Flack's recent comments about how she got trolled on Twitter after the breakdown of her relationship with Harry are anything to go by.

The TV presenter, who famously dated the popstar back when he was just 18 and she was 32, spoke after her axing from ITV2's The Xtra Factor which has seen her replaced by BBC Radio 1 DJ Sarah Jane Crawford.

'It was horrible.' Caroline said to the Mail, 'But the more you learn about Twitter the more you realise it's an outlet for people to be angry. I was always comfortable in my own skin until people started criticising it. They'd talk about my appearance and call me fat. At first I thought, "What have I done wrong?" Now I know there are a lot of angry people out there. You don't get the ups without the downs, or the downs without the ups.'

It is true that some of One Direction's fans can get a er, little spirited on Twitter, and quite frankly we can't even begin to imagine what would happen to our self confidence if fans of the boyband started discussing our every flaw - whether they were existent or not. Luckily Caroline had had some therapy earlier in life which helped her deal. 'For me, therapy was a way of changing the way you think,' she says. 'I do over-think things. I've always been a worrier, ever since I was a child.'

Caroline is now happily dating music manager Jack Street who's also younger than Caroline (but definitely older than Harry).
