The legacy of Mumford and Sons could take quite a modern turn if Carey Mulligan, reportedly pregnant with husband Marcus Mumford’s first child, is to give birth to a daughter.
Will Mumford and Sons – a name better suited for a Victorian salvage firm than a band – have to move itself into the 21st century with the arrival of a female Mumford? Probably not, because the baby won’t be in the band, not before it learns how to play the banjo or what have you.
But enough digression, more on that pregnancy news. Rumours have been swirling around that Carey was pregnant, as her baby bump was ‘visible’ as she walked the Tony Awards’ red carpet. How visible?
Enough for a source to confirm to E! News: ‘She is feeling wonderful. She is really excited to finish up her projects in the coming months and enjoy some time off to just focus on her and family.’
The source explained: ‘Her pregnancy has been going well and she is trying to take it easy in between press for her new film Far from the Madding Crowd and her show on Broadway.’
There’s yet to be an official line from Carey’s reps, just FYI, but the couple are incredibly private, after all. Carey has previously told Vogue: ‘I have always felt that the less people know about me, the better,’ so just don’t expect any Instagram updates of the progress of ‘the bump’.
