She made her name modelling for the likes of Burberry, Chanel and Mulberry. She has starred in a number of Hollywood movies, including Pan, Paper Towns and Suicide Squad. She has made music – 'CC The World' with Pharrell Williams and 'I Feel Everything' from movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. And now she's written a book – the coming-of-age tale Mirror, Mirror was published earlier this month.
At just 25, Cara Delevingne has managed to work 'Hollywood star', 'singer' and 'author' into her CV, after, of course, 'international supermodel'. Not exactly easy professions to succeed in, are they? Since critics can be harsh on models who 'dare' to try out new things, one wonders if she has ever felt like she had to prove herself, more so than other new actors, singers or novelists might have done.
This was a question put to her in a recent interview with Stellar. And this was her reply:
'Critics can judge models so quickly. Just because models are known for their beauty or the way they look, some critics assume there’s nothing underneath. I don’t know if I have to prove myself, exactly — I’m going to carry on doing what I love and if people don’t like it, they don’t like it.'
Now, that's how to shut down the critics!
Also in interview she was asked if, in view of her impressive list of achievements, there was anything she wasn't good at. 'I’m bad at a lot of things,' she said, 'I just tend not to do them!"
She went on to cite juggling, general organisation and cooking as things she does less well. 'I do love to cook,' she added, 'I’m just not very good at it.'
Well, one thing we know she probably is very good at cooking is bacon. The superstar loves it so much she has the word 'bacon' tattooed on her foot.
A model, an actress, a singer, an author and a self-professed lover of bacon? Cara Delevingne really is too good to be true.
