These are two people we would never in a million years have put together

We just found out she broke up with Nicholas Hoult, which was sad enough, but nothing prepared us for the news of the rumoured romance between Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin. Like, there’s just no way! No way! But actually, maybe there is.

Reports that they’ve been seeing each other started to surface over the weekend, which happens to be the weekend that Jennifer celebrated her 24th birthday. Details are scarce, except that they have supposedly been seeing one another since June, and were seen ‘being flirty’ at a Coldplay after-party in London on 1 July.

In fact, earlier that evening at the Coldplay performance, Chris really went there on the flirt-o-meter when he made a Hunger Games reference and blew a kiss to the VIP area, where J-Law was sitting. It makes us think about that time he started dating Gwyneth and basically serenaded her from the stage.

Jennifer couldn’t be any less like Gwyneth, from whom Chris ‘consciously uncoupled’ five months ago. For a start, Jennifer is as unfiltered as they come, she swears like a sailor, throws up at Oscar parties and trips up on red carpets and on stage. She’s also remarkably well-liked by the general public, for those exact reasons. Gwyneth’s ‘perfect life’ image has never really endeared anyone to her.

J-Law recently told a magazine of her love of all things British, including fish and chips, and – we assume – British men. Chris loves a willowy blonde American actress, preferably one who’s won an Oscar or two. And, we imagine, the J-Law fun levels must be off the chain.

Put it this way, if any man could date Jennifer Lawrence, he would, so who can blame Chris Martin for pursuing her?
