Calvin Harris was involved in a very serious car crash on Friday night in LA, his rep has confirmed.

The star was rushed to hospital by ambulance following the smash, but suffered only a cut to his face. According to reports, the star left the hospital hours later ‘against medical advice’ because of the lack of private rooms available. It is thought the passengers in the other car involved suffered more serious injuries.

The star’s team posted an official confirmation of the incident on his Facebook page, reading: "Adam's transport was involved in a collision this evening on the way to the airport. As a result he will be unable to perform at Omnia tonight. He has been examined by doctors and told to rest for a few days - Calvin HQ."

Calvin was forced to cancel his gig in Omnia as a result of the crash, and has since pulled out of a second gig in Alabama.

US site TMZ states that Harris was a passenger in a Cadillac when it crashed into a VW Bug at 11pm Friday.

Here’s wishing all involved a speedy recovery.
