Caitlyn Jenner Takes Us Inside Her Wardrobe, And Talks Style Crush Angelina Jolie

If like us you've been following Caitlyn Jenner's every style move, you'll know that she's working with Angelina Jolie's superstar stylist Jen Rade. And for their first fashion collaboration, it was no coincidence that Caitlyn wore a Versace dress that was a lot like one Angelina had previously worn when promoting her movie with Johnny Depp, The Tourist.

Now, thanks to a teaser from the final episode of E! show I A Cait, we've seen how this outfit came to be and finally have a glimpse inside Caitlyn's closet.

The clip shows Caitlyn prepping for her first meeting with Jen.

"Jen Rade is coming over - she’s the stylist who’s going to help me dress for the ESPYs," Caitlyn explains. "The bottom line is I really need a professional to kind of coordinate everything."

She also confirms that she's a big fan of Ms Jolie. In fact, she's something of a style icon for Caitlyn - she calls her "Very casual, very elegant - chic."

We're then taken inside Caitlyn's wardrobe, where Jen asesses Caitlyn's style as "easy classics", "a little hippie."

They also discuss Caitlyn's issue with wearing heels, as she says your average stiletto puts her at 6"9. But Rade echoes just what we're thinking when she says "Who cares?"

The pair then settle down to discuss what Caitlyn will wear to accept her Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs.

We love it here at Grazia Daily when we’re the first to notice a red-carpet style inspiration, and this one is pretty great.

So, Caitlyn Jenner’s inspirational and emotional acceptance speech for the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at last night’s ESPY’s is arguably one of the biggest news stories of the day. And the 65-year-old looked jaw-droppingly amazing in a floor-length customised Atelier Versace cream gown. Chic, elegant, sophisticated. And with her brunette hair swept to one side, Caitlyn’s first red-carpet appearance since transitioning not only ticked all the boxes, but made us think of another brunette, whose simple style always nails a red carpet - Ms Angelina Jolie.

And then we suddenly realised that Caitlyn was actually wearing a frock that has previously been worn by La Jolie. And a Versace one at that. Okay, its obvs not the actual frock, but one that looks very, very similar.

Cast your minds back to December 2010, when Angelina was trotting the globe’s red carpets alongside Johnny Depp promoting their steamy thriller, The Tourist. For the New York premiere, Ms Jolie wore this show-stopper of a floor-length cream Atelier Versace gown. So far, so coincidental, right? Wrong.

Just days before last night’s ESPY’s in Los Angeles, Caitlyn’s publicist Alan Nierob confirmed that she was working with American super-stylist, Jen Rade. And who does Jen Rade dress? Yes, you’ve guessed it, non-other than Angelina Jolie. This is no coincidence.

Caitlyn made reference to the ‘pressure’ she felt ahead of her first red carpet appearance and had the audience in fits of laughter when she quipped at the beginning of the speech, ‘It seems every time I turn around in life I’m putting myself in these high pressure situations: competing in the [Olympic] games; raising a family. But I’ve never felt more pressure than I have ever felt in my life than in the last couple of months…picking out this outfit! Okay girls! I get it! You gotta get the shoes, the hair, the make-up, the whole process is exhausting!’ she joked, adding, ‘and next! The Fashion Police!’

Well while we can’t predict what The Fashion Police may say of Caitlyn’s outfit, to see that she’s channelling Angelina is pretty damn brilliant in our books. Afraid though, Ange wins on the accessories front. While Caitlyn’s stunning Beladora estate 18k gold emerald, ruby and pearl earrings teamed with an Art Deco diamond and sapphire bracelet were pretty spectacular, they weren’t Brad Pitt now were they? For ladies, it is a universal style law that unfortunately decrees that Ange will always trump with that on her arm.
