Buckingham Palace marked Mother’s Day by sharing a previously unseen photo of the Royal Family in 1965.
The picture, posted on both Twitter and Instagram, shows the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and their four children in the gardens of Frogmore House.
The country house is owned by the Crown Estate and situated in Windsor Castle’s Home Park, half a mile south of the main castle. The private-35 acre gardens are often used by the royal family as a secret escape, and were chosen as a location for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement photo shoot.

Taken during the Queen’s 39th birthday, the intimate shot sees the family looking at something that has caught their attention on the floor. The young Earl of Wessex is leaning out his pram while the Duke of York is holding onto the handle of the pram.
The palace also took to social media to share a snap of the Queen and The Earl of Wessex to mark his 54th birthday.
