Burberry’s latest Brit fragrance campaign, shot by 17-year-old Brooklyn Beckham, has just been revealed.
The striking series of images marks the second time that Brooklyn has teamed up with the quintessentially British brand, having previously shot a Burberry campaign live on social media in January this year.
The new campaign features a cast of British newcomers, including Ben Rees, Lewis Helim, Todd Dorigo, Eliza Thomas, Liv Mason Pearson, Maddie Demaine, Carvell Conduah and Harry Pourdjis. It will arrive in stores and online this month, and customers will be able to take home their favourite images from a selection of 36 limited edition posters.
Seriously, though, imagine handing these in for your A-Level coursework…
Discussing working with Brooklyn on his first Burberry campaign, creative director Christopher Bailey revealed ‘Brooklyn has a really great eye for image […] His style and attitude were exactly what we wanted to capture in the spirit of this new Brit fragrance campaign.’
Not everyone in the industry, though, is pleased with the brand’s decision to give such a high profile campaign to a youngster with a famous surname. Speaking to The Guardian earlier this year, fashion photographer Chris Floyd, said ‘David and Victoria Beckham represent sheer willpower and graft. Especially her, she’s climbed that mountain all by herself. They represent hard work and then their [17]-year-old year son comes along and it’s sheer nepotism. He hasn’t done it from hard work, which is counter-intuitive to what his parents represent.’
A source close to the Beckhams, however, told The Sun: ‘People will think he’s only got th[ese] job[s] because of his rich parents but he doesn’t take anything for granted. He knows he’s lucky.’
We think it’s best to let the campaign photos speak for themselves. Brooklyn, we await your next career move with interest…
