Britney Spears shared the news last night that she has reunited with her mother Lynne after three years of estrangement.

The Princess of Pop told her 42 million followers that she feels 'blessed they were able to make things right', which appeared to be a nod to the palpable tension which has marred the Spears family for years.

It is believed that the mother and daughter have not spoken since Britney's controversial conservatorship - which was controlled by her father and Lynne's ex-husband Jamie - ended in 2021.

But earlier this week, Lynne was pictured landing in Los Angeles from her native Louisiana. She was allegedly driven to the home of Britney's manager, Cate Hudson, before ordering an Uber to her eldest daughter's property.

While TMZ reports that Britney, 41, did not know what time her mum would be arriving, she willingly let her inside her home and they spent around half an hour talking. Britney's husband Sam Asghari was also understood to be present.

A source told the outlet that Lynne is 'committed to making it right with her daughter' and that the 'ice between them is thawing'.

This was seemingly backed up by Britney in an Instagram post, which read in full, 'My sweet mama showed up at my doorstep yesterday after 3 years… it’s been such a long time… with family, there are always things that need to be worked out… but time heals all wounds!!!

'And after being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things RIGHT!!! I love you so much!!!

'Psss… I’m so blessed we can have coffee together after 14 years!!! Let’s go shopping afterwards!!!'

The healing of wounds comes after Britney accused her mum of planning out an involuntary commitment the day before Jamie filed to be her temporary conservator in 2008.

In October last year, three months after Britney's claims, Lynne issued an apology to her daughter for 'anything and everything' and begged her to unblock her on social media.

Britney, in part, responded with, 'Not one mother f*cking person stood up for me!!! Mom take your apology and go f*ck yourself!!!'

It was also reported that Britney refused to see her mum in November 2021, during one of her first bids to make amends.

Could it be that the dust has settled?
