Man, we don't envy Briana Jungwirth. As #blessed as she is to have a happy, healthy baby son, Freddie Reign's father is Louis Tomlinson, the on-hiatus One Direction member who has a legion of fans obsessed with debunking the fact that the son is their son. You see, a lot of One Direction fans are Larry Stylinson shippers, and believe there is no feasible way that Louis could have had a child because he is gay with Harry Styles. Both boys have denied the rumours, and Louis says they (the rumours, not the fans, he loves the fans) are: 'A fucking annoyance.' There's also a bunch of One Direction fans who simply don't like the fact that Louis has had a child with any woman. The Larry shippers and the Briana haters then converge to form a group we'll now call the Freddie Reign truthers.
The conspiracy theories are compelling, as this Buzzfeed article shows (bookmark it for later, it's a very comprehensive account of the truthers' meticulous analysis of social media posts of Briana's and Louis' which purport to show that Freddie is either not real, or someone else's child.) On top of that, here's a sample of the sort of posts Briana gets from Louis' supposed fans under her Instagram posts: 'Larry is real bye', 'Larry is real', 'Ugly.' and, um, 'Briana you're a fucking slut you don't like Louis you just want to take his celebrity you're fake.fuck off briana. you deserve to not be here you have to go away Louis he doesn't like you. Louis like Harry . And LARRY IS REAL BITCH! Bye.'
But, come (American) Mother's Day and Briana had had enough. She posted a video of little Freddie cooing at her along with a caption saying 'This past year has been the best and worst of my life', citing Freddie as the 'most amazing gift' but the way she has been 'scrutinised and harassed by thousands - which even included major media outlets whom all seemed to believe he wasn't real' as a major downside.
She also added 'If it was said about you, you may not had the will power to hold back as much as I have.' before adding: 'Happy Mother's Day to myself. I'm proud to be Freddie's mommy.'
As for Louis? He didn't post any mention of Mother's Day to Briana (or his own mum, Johannah Deakin, but maybe that's because she's British and giving her two Mother's Days would be a bit excessive). He did, however, post to Instagram a photo of himself looking really sad in a hat along with the caption 'hat day'.
