Angelina Jolie might play the ultimate villain in Maleficent, the story of the witch behind Sleeping Beauty, but she wasn't the one who bore the brunt of an angry 'fan' at the Los Angeles premiere of the film – it was fiancé Brad Pitt.
The actor and producer was signing autographs when a notorious red carpet prankster, Vitalii Sediuk, jumped over a fence and hit him. This was confirmed by LA Police Department spokesman Gus Villanueva.
'The officers who were handling him said it looked like it was intentional but, at this point, it remains to be determined,' said Sergeant Leonard Calderon of the Hollywood LAPD.
The best part is, Brad wasn't hurt too much and Sediuk – a Ukrainian, who works for Belgian TV – was quickly arrested for misdemeanour battery. Sediuk is now being held for a whopping $20,000 (£11,958) bail.
Just to hit home (sorry) how much Sediuk deserves a bit of comeuppance, he's the same guy who crawled inside America Ferrera's dress on the Cannes red carpet, and infamously gave Madonna a gift of her loathed hydrangeas (knowing full well she hated the flowers) at a press conference.
Yeah, OK, it was kind of funny when he kissed Will Smith (which, in turn, got him a slap in the face) but, just going out to smack someone? Maybe the 25 year old's running out of ideas, but at least he'll have a good long time in the cooler to think of new, less violent ways of getting attention.
