It’s time for your morning cry, as Bob Geldof has spoken out about how he’s still haunted by the death of his daughter, Peaches.

Peaches died of a heroin overdose in April 2014, leaving behind her two young sons, Phaedra and Astala and her husband Thomas Cohen.

Her dad has said how he anticipated that something tragic might happen to Peaches. He told RTE Radio: “Part of me kind of half expected it with Peaches to be honest with you – the way she was carrying on, there’s nothing you can do about it.”

He added: "This thing of being forever 25, in my head, that's unbearable, simply because of that cliché – you’re not supposed to see your children die.

“But she is the one who is with me every second of the day and she is the one who bangs into my consciousness at any moment, especially in any down moment when I’m not doing something. She’s very present.”

He also explained how he’s struggling to come to terms with his loss; “Time does not heal, it accommodates. But it is not accommodating this.”

Bob married his long-term girlfriend, Jeanne Marine, in September this year in the South of France. Bob previously said he proposed the day after Peaches’ funeral: “We were suffocating with grief and we needed air and light in the room."

“I’m getting Bono-ish here, but all you need is love.”
