With lockdown three well underway, at this point we're trawling through Netflix wondering what we haven't watched. We've consumed Tiger King and Love Is Blind in bewilderment and lusted over Bridgerton. But needless to say, we need some new TV to get us through the winter. Well, enter Bling Empire, the drama-packed new reality show from Netflix which is sure to be up your street if you enjoyed gazing at wild amounts of money on Selling Sunset.
So, what is Bling Empire? The premise is simple: the show follows 'an incredibly wealthy group of Asian and Asian American friends (and frenemies) in Los Angeles'. It has been dubbed a reality TV version of Crazy Rich Asians. Netflix continues, 'Between running multi-billion dollar businesses and traveling the world, these friends are as good at keeping secrets as they are at spilling them. And there is certainly no shortage of secrets.'
The cast are a fascinating bunch of larger than life personalities. We have Kane (who thinks shopping is the best therapy), Kevin, (a model who bemoans having to flex his abs), Christine (who says her husband's father would be an emperor in China), Kelly, (who only wants to date for love), Kim Lee (a 'super famous DJ'), Cherie (an empress to a huge denim empire) and Anna (whose father sells 'bombs, guns'). And you can watch the trailer below.
The reality series is on Netflix now after debuting on January 15th, and fans are loving it. What are you waiting for?
