On the red carpet at yesterday's Variety Power of Women luncheon in New York, Blake Lively spoke frankly about her views on the Trump administration.
‘Do we really have to narrow it down?’ Lively joked when asked about her concerns regarding the current president.
But as Lively highlighted, the current political situation is no laughing matter.
‘There's a lot that's worrying me as a woman, as a mother, and not just that, but as a human being who cares about other human beings and our rights and our liberties and what we value,’ the actress and mother of two stated.
However, Lively could see the ‘silver lining’.
‘And I feel very grateful on the other hand, that we're becoming so much more conscious and we're becoming so much more involved, and we're becoming active and I feel like there's an awakening that's happened. And so if I look for the silver lining, that's the awakening,’ she continued.
When it comes to making a difference, Lively encouraged people to take action beyond social media.
‘We can't just retweet things. We have to actually do something about it. And I see that happening all around me and I see myself doing that, and that's powerful,’ she concluded.
