Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively has been on the receiving end of a torrent of criticism over the caption of one of her recent Instagram posts.

Blake was attending the premiere of her new film, Woody Allen's Cafe Society in Cannes, and posted a front and back picture of herself in a floor-length gold Versace gown.

The pregnant star wanted to draw attention to her posterior and so captioned the snap using the song lyric from Sir Mix-a-Lot's Baby Got Back, 'L.A. face with an Oakland booty'.

Fans instantly hit back at the actress with allegations of racism, one tweeting: 'Another day, another rich white woman using WOC's bodies as a punchline and commodity.' (@katbeee)

Another commented, 'Blake lively doesn't have an Oakland booty she doesn't even have a Rancho cucamunga booty' (@supersloth), whilst @thinkovision wrote: 'Also, LA is 47.5% Latin so "LA face" doesn't mean what Blake Lively thinks it means.'

Blake has yet to respond to the comments, but we anticiapte she will do shortly. We'll keep you posted.
