Royal protocol obviously doesn’t apply to Beyoncé, who embraced Meghan Markle at The Lion King premiere. According to The Daily Mail's Rebecca English, Beyoncécongratulated the royals on the birth of their baby Archie - and Jay-Z apparently handed out parenting advice to the couple, by telling the pair, ‘Always find time for yourself.’ (Watch the super cute video below.)
Body language expert Judi James told The Mirror that their embrace suggests the pair are 'warm friends.' 'These two greet one another with a ritual that defines them as warm friends,' she told the publication. 'Meghan performs a head tilt of friendly recognition as she gets to Beyoncé in the lineup, then announces and instigates the embrace by raising her left hand up. The women start with a cheek-kiss that converts into a mutual hug, with Beyoncé closing her eyes to register deep affection. They keep their hands in place as they part to talk, with their left hands clasped and performing the kind of judder that is a strong tie-sign of mutual friendship.'
At the premiere, Meghan looked stunning in her £3,500 Jason Wu black sheer panel dress while Harry donned a classic suit and bow tie. Meanwhile, Beyoncé - who stars as the lioness Nala in Disney's remake of the 1994 animated classic - amazed crowds in her yellown designer Nguyen Cong Tri dress.
The Duchess was also presented with a bouquet, a book and an adorable cuddly Simba toy for Archie by 12-year-olds Evie Chambers and Valentina Walker.
