It’s official: Beyoncé is queen of Instagram. While she may not have the largest follower count, a new report suggests the singer can bank the biggest amount via the social media platform.

D'Marie Analytics reported that a Beyoncé can charge a whopping $1 million per post - that works out about £800,000.

Contrary to popular belief, more followers doesn’t always equate to more money.

Selena Gomez, the most followed star on Instagram, can charge around £600,000 a post, whereas Kim Kardashian is looking at about £400,000 and Kendall Jenner can take home £300,000.

So why are Beyoncé’s posts worth that much more? It’s all down to engagement, and her less is more approach.

‘Her limited release of exclusive, curated content… causes such frenzy from her audience. These days, less really is more,’ Frank Spadafora, the chief executive of D'Marie told Moneyish.

Unlike some other stars, Beyoncé is very picky when it comes to sharing commercial content via Instagram and when she does, brands have to fork out the big bucks.

For example, for her Pepsi campaign, which included an Instagram post, she was reportedly paid $50 million.
