I truly believe that the world would be worse off if Beyonce wasn’t a thing. If she’s not taking a stand against police brutality then she’s volunteering in Houston to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, all whilst being a wife, mum to three young children and all-round global sensation.

In her latest bid to make the world a better place, the Texas-born superstar has released a remix of the Latin hit Mi Gente, which translates to 'my people'. All proceeds from the single, originally by J Balvin and Willy Williams, are being donated to Puerto Rico, Mexico and other Caribbean Islands that have been affected by the recent hurricane and earthquake.

As well as this, she's taken to social media and her personal website to encourage people to donate in any way they possibly can. Her BeyGood foundation is currently taking donations to provide support relief in affected areas.

We’ve seen several stars opt to put out Latin versions of songs this summer with the likes of *Despacito *and Reggaeton Lento, so it’s only right that Beyonce follows suit with her version of Mi Gente. The song features Bey singing in Spanish and English as well as telling us to ‘lift up your people, from Texas, Puerto Rico, ‘dem islands to Mexico’. It's also right that she decided to donate the proceeds to an urgent cause where people in the areas she sings about are currently being affected by major natural disasters.

Beyonce is no stranger to singing in Spanish, as she’s previously released covers of her own songs in the language, including Irreplaceable and Listen. Not only is the Mi Gente remix bound to be a hit, it’s helping the world one download at a time. In a world plagued with disaster and turmoil, Queen B is our guardian angel. Is there anything she can’t do?
