What were you up to yesterday? You know, besides procrastinating at work, skulking through Instagram and patiently waiting for the Made In Chelsea Ibiza finale? Because the rest of the world was busy dressing up as Beyoncé to mark her 36th birthday. And when I say the world I mean the small world exclusively occupied by Queen Bey’s nearest and dearest super famous friends, of course.

Yep. 4th September was Bey Day. Why it’s not yet a national holiday, I’m not sure, but according to social media, and beyonce.com, it was pretty much celebrated as such. A-list members of the Beyhive came out in swarms to mark their Queen's day of birth in the only way one should honour such an occasion – dress up in one of Beyoncé’s most iconic looks and have your photo taken.
Eighteen of Bey’s nearest and dearest dressed in one of Beyoncé’s signature Formation outfits (the wide brimmed hat, two plaits, black bardot, vampy lipstick and a chunky as hell silver necklace - you know the one). From fellow children of Destiney Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to mother and daughter Blue Ivy and Tina Lawson, right through to real life actual ex-first lady of the United States Michelle Obama (omfg), the team were all photographed for a series on Beyoncé's website. And yes, they all looked insanely good.
Other honorary shout outs were made by sisters Chloe and Halle who actually featured in the Formation video last year, pal Serena Williams and Jay Z's mum Gloria Carter all made the cut too.
So if there was ever any doubt that Beyonce is indeed Queen and nucleus of the squad to end all celebrity squads, here's your proof. Nothing tops Michelle Obama. Nothing.
