Now, we wouldn't normally tell you to listen to a Michelle Williams track. Which is a shame, because the former Destiny's Child singer really isn't as tragic as various memes would point out. (Side note: remember when she saw all those tweets saying #PoorMichelle then said something cutting and sassy about her accountant?)
But she's going to get a whole load of listens for her new track - yes, music is still what Michelle does these days, apart from share a name with the Blue Valentine actress - because of who guest stars. Not only does Beyoncé provide vocals for the track, but Solange is also there. And of course Kelly Rowland's on the track, which, in terms of content, makes quite a departure from the last song she released, which was basically about getting head.
Say Yes doesn't sound like typical gospel track when you hear the instrumental, which really wouldn't be out of place on a Diplo mixtape. However, you know it's gospel when the lyrics kick in because they are all very, very god-y. The chorus goes 'When Jesus say yes nobody can say no' and comments on the Soundcloud link include 'turn up for Jesus!'
Not exactly our cup of tea, but maybe it's another way Beyoncé and Solange, who have been on a bit of an Instagram-based charm offensive, can prove their sisterly bond once more. Both were at the centre of a scandal after a video emerged of Solange kicking Beyoncé's husband, Jay Z, in an elevator following a Met Ball after-party. Because interestingly, the song was uploaded to BeyonceHQ on Soundcloud.
The problem is, even if this song was a strong 8/10, we'd still probably prefer to hear the audio from that elevator. Sorry, Michelle.
