A couple of weeks ago,we heard rumblings that Jay Z and Beyoncé were about to go on tour together and, much to our joy, we’ve got solid confirmation that, yes, this is a thing and, yes, it's going to happen.

Artwork for the tour, called On The Run (despite the assumptions it was going to be called the Me and Mrs Carter tour and how this meant Beyoncé isn’t a feminist), features Beyoncé and Jay in matching his-and-hers balaclavas, and landed in the inboxes of keen members of Beyoncé's ‘Beyhive’ fan page late last night along with a special code to buy pre-sale tickets when they go on sale, um, today.

Our welps of excitement at the possibility of seeing the Carters do* Bonnie And Clyde ’03, Crazy In Love* and Drunk In Love on stage together – plus a potential mash-up of I Just Wanna Love You and Green Light – were pretty much audible from the next postcode.

Much to our dismay, then, when we realised that the tour is currently 16 dates around North America only. Then we started to feel utter gig-FOMO.

However, not all is lost. Stopping over at Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston, but not Jay Z’s native New York (well, Brooklyn), we’ve got an inkling that we won’t necessarily have to justify scraping together enough money to get a flight to Winnipeg to see the pair on tour together.

Surely there’s going to be a bigger world tour announced, hitting all of the major cities – New York, Paris, Tokyo, London…? Or maybe New York will be reserved for Jay’s homecoming after the power couple do a tour of Europe?

They have, after all, been rumoured to have bought a house in London where they can base themselves more permanently in time for the summer.

And, with the On The Run North America tour running (sorry) through early July, there is space for the two to shake all of Europe to its core with their amazingness in August, right? Basically, what we’re getting at is, Beyoncé and Jay Z could be coming to a stage near you very soon. At least in our dreams.
