Last night's Oscars ceremony saw the most dramatic moment in its entire 89 years when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway wrongly announced La La Land as Best Film - when in fact Moonlight had won.
Making matters even worse, the cast and crew of the Hollywood musical had already taken to the stage and begun their acceptance speeches before the gaffe was revealed.
Producer Jordan Horowitz was first to announce it, taking the microphone to say that Moonlight had in fact won, repeatedly confirming 'this is not a joke' before showing the winning envelope's contents.
At one point, when an aide comes on the stage during the speeches, you can see Emma Stone mouth 'Oh My God' while Ryan Gosling can barely contain a snigger at the epic fail.
Twitter understandably had a field day with the dramatic climax to the Awards show, with some of our favourite reactions below...
Director M. Night Shyamalan, who is famed for his epic twists (hello, The Sixth Sense) claimed HE was behind this twist too:
Others were quick to liken the scenario to that Miss World gaffe:
And Steve Harvey himself, who had made said error...
Some felt for La La Land's director, Damien Chazelle
And others questionned (hopefully) whether or not this had any impact on the Presidential election...
While others just enjoyed the moment for what it was: ridiculous
