Last night, all eyes were on David Beckham as he attended the 6th Biennial UNICEF Ball to receive the charity's Humanitarian Leadership Award. Through his work with 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund, Beckham has drawn awareness to, and raised much-needed funds for, children in danger across the world.
He was honoured with the award for playing in seven football matches in seven continents to raise money for the charity. The number seven, as most of us know, means a lot to the British star: he played as number '7 ' for Manchester United, and even included it in the name of his only daughter, Harper Seven.
Beckham was joined by stars such as Heidi Klum, Elton John and Lea Seydoux, who turned out en mass to support the retired footballer.
Writing on Instagram about the night, Beckham wrote: 'Extremely honoured to receive the @UNICEFUSA’s Humanitarian Leadership Award this evening at the #UNICEFBall. I can’t wait to continue doing all I can for Unicef and my 7 Fund, 7.org, to help children across the world.'
